Cambridge Bioinformatics was established in 2020 by Dr. Jacqui Keane. Previously Jacqui spent over ten years at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, leading the Pathogen Informatics team. She has collaborated with the Wellcome Connecting Science programme to develop, lead, and deliver over 15 bioinformatics courses in the areas of next-generation sequencing bioinformatics, pathogen genomics, and introduction to bioinformatics.
Our teaching approach is to blend theory with practice to equip participants with sufficient bioinformatics theory to QC and interpret the results from cutting edge bioinformatics software. All of our courses are module based with a small theory component delivered by live lecture, and a larger practical component. Our courses are highly practical using real world datasets to ensure participants gain skills that can be directly applied to their own work upon completion of the course.

I had little knowledge of bioinformatics before the course and the level of the course materials provided was perfect for me. The virtual machine means I can go through the practical sessions again after the course.
Excellent course, highly recommended to anyone interested in bioinformatics whether they have some knowledge or want to start analysing their own data.
Thanks you for a great course! Zoom breakout rooms worked really well as well as having slack on the side.
I could not fault any aspects of the course. The number of topics covered was incredible, although reasonable. The course material was fantastic, up to date, and there was also time for discussion and networking.
Thank you very much for the excellent course!
Honestly a fantastic experience. Thank you Jacqui!
